Nine players gathered at Judy and Shelley's house to play a game. They would attempt challenges as a team to win money. One of the team members, however, was The Mole. The Mole's job was to keep the team from winning money without being caught. After each set of challenges, the players took a quiz about the identity of The Mole. Whoever scored worst was out of the game. At the end of the game, only The Mole and the winner would remain. The winner kept any money won by the team, and The Mole kept any money lost by the team.

TIMER
THE GOAL:
The rules were explained and the team went outside for the first task. They had to take turns turning over a 1-minute sand timer. The team won the money if they correctly guessed when 10 minutes were up.
THE CATCH:
Players had to keep a ball moving among them while waiting to turn over the timer. If you dropped the ball or if the ball stopped because of you, you came out of the game, making it more difficult to remember when 10 minutes had passed.

HOW IT PLAYED OUT:
Del and Susan were quickly out, followed by Joan, Sara, and Diane. Bob and Shelley got confused as to which of them should turn the timer over and Bob was out. Marshall dropped the ball which lead to Judy and Shelley being the last two in the game. Eventually they called time, but they were almost a minute and a half early-Failure! Mole: $6 Team: $0
TANGRAMS
THE GOAL:
The players split into three teams of three. Each team was given a different tangram, an ancient Chinese puzzle, to solve in 3 minutes.
THE CATCH:
Unbeknownst to the players, the first team to solve their tangram would play against each other trying to make a perfect square out of their tangram pieces. The first player to do so would win an exemption from the upcoming quiz.
AT STAKE: $3 per puzzle solved
HOW IT PLAYED OUT:
Bob, Sara, and Del (team 1) solved their puzzle first. However, Shelley, Joan and Diane (team 2) and Susan, Judy, and Marshall (team 3) failed to solve theirs in time. Mole: $12 Team: $3
Bob, Sara, and Del then each took a set of tangram pieces and tried to make a perfect square. Unfortunately, none of them was able to do it and they were all at risk during the first quiz.
THE FIRST QUIZ:
Everyone sat down to take their first quiz, ten questions about The Mole such as: "Is the Mole Male or Female?" and "Did the Mole's team win the tangram game?" Whoever scored worst on this quiz would be The Moles first victim and would be out of the game.
Before the results were announced, the players each sat down and told the camera privately who they thought was The Mole. Most of the players thought it was Diane, though some thought it was Marshall or Del and some had no guess at all.
The players' names were entered into the big screen - if a green thumbprint appeared after their name, they stayed in the game. If a red thumbprint appeared, they were the Mole's first victim…
